On Comfort
I think it sometimes comforts us to feel impermeable. There is a sense of safety in sitting still. As for me, I’m trying to feel more secure in presuming, in constant change-in finding solidity with unknown places and people, actual or intellectual. It is important to me that I retain my coherent self while changing, perhaps especially when. The change in beliefs or changing of self is often gradual and is certainly not only in proportion to one’s professional or materialistic achievements. It is my conviction that comfort breeds stagnation of self. I guess it’s important to be uncomfortable.
